The professional competence of a building inspector, who is a member of the AIBQ. Building inspection is a unique discipline which requires training and thorough knowledge of buildings and their structure.
A candidate wanting to become a member of the AIBQ must prove they are competent in all technical aspects and must have the knowledge to meet the professional requirements of the association such as: passing the exams, passing the report verifications and the on-site inspections.
As a professional, it is the inspector’s duty to pursue continuous training since their membership status depends upon it.
All members belong to different committees; those aiming for continued improvement are on the verification and certification committees of training and discipline.
Members must be covered by professional liability insurance (errors and omissions) to be in accordance with the association’s rules.
Students: Any person registered in a training course in real estate inspection recognized by the Association may apply to the Association as a student.
